November Shrub: Reed

Hey Reader,

I ache for daylight already. How are you doing?
I am blending in well with the societal need to "save" the daylight time. I think about the last time I tried to make winter "work for me".
It's laughable in a way, right?
... Since when has nature ever bowed down to work for me, of all people? Am I not just a whisper reacting to her will, and surely not the other way 'round?

I cannot make nature work for me, but I can invite myself to receive the changing seasons of nature. I can make my dreams come true.

This falling-into-winter is different. (I swear I don't say this every year). I've been reading "Wintering" by Katherine May and have been reminding myself of all the lovely ways I can enjoy the months of darkness we have ahead of us. Highly recommend the book. And one of the ways I'm enjoying the changing weather is..

The Ancestors Retreat: Recap

Thank you to the souls (and their ancestors... and transcestors!) who came in person, and thank you to everyone of you who was truly there in spirit on Samhain.
