May: I can be imperfect - OAK TREE WISDOM

"Watch the sun go down into the sea

Wrap your love around me

Life is beautiful and now you see

This is how it feels to be free".
- Marina, Orange Tree

May Tree: Oak

Hey Reader,

Merry Bealtaine to you my friend!

In the Celtic Ogam (the Irish tree language), Oak enters in from Apr 20-May 15. It's a bit like the astrological calendar but with earth-based trees instead of faraway planets.
Beltaine marks the time of year when the sun has returned and has married the earth. It is time is for your next step: stepping across thresholds, celebrating rebirths, and the returning of the light half of the year.

I thought you could use some oak-y journal prompts for your recess breaks this week:

  • Celebrate the life-blood running within, especially fertility and the ability to create anew. What has my lifeblood been lately? What is it becoming?
  • Complete a cycle - what cycle feels complete now?
  • Acknowledge fertility, whether conceiving a project, creation, child, or other endeavour. What is growing within me?
  • Doors are opening for me. I am multitudes. I am worthy of these opportunities.

And affirm:

You are Multitudes. You are Worthy. You need Earth. Earth needs you. Here's where to begin:

Forestbathing is NOT a walk in the park.
Nature offers tools to help us reconnect back to ourselves to be the best version of us.

Through this nature work I offer Authenticity Coaching, so you can start being who you need to be to allow a better world to emerge.

To ground this in Earthly terms, here's some examples of how I found my authenticity through nature:

  • Matching my breath to the tide's rhythm - in and out - this shows us we are never "off-beat" and can always return to rhythm
  • Leaning on a tree - I can be imperfect, limbs bent or broken, blown sideways, curled up and twisted, and still stand tall. Everyone (still) knows I am tree.

Here are more nature-proven ways to help you get back in the driver's seat of your life:

~ Pronounced "d-oo-r" in Gaeilge ~
“Fertility. Stability. Endurance. Thresholds, boundaries, and ancient knowledge."

Celebrate the magic of the green Earth that sustains us.

I am a symbol of generation. Make things beautiful, conceive, create. Everything appears for your benefit. Steadily build a strong manifest of your dreams.

My grove is the most ancient of temples. I transmute your troubles. I host all life under my canopy. It is time to begin.

- paraphrased from Celtic Tree Oracle by Sharlyn Hidalgo
